“All human beings have three lives: public, private, and secret.” ~ Gabriel García Márquez
Since I began A Farm of Your Home, I’ve been asked many questions.
Here are some of my favourites…
Can you send me some of your seed/plants for free? Pretty please?
I’m happy to seed swap for something I don’t already have. But I’m not really interested in becoming a seedy business. There are a number of reliable, fantastic seed suppliers about who could help you out if there is something in particular that you’re after.
Where do you find all your heirloom seeds?
I have a few seed suppliers that I purchase from, I’ll post a list soon.
Why are you planting tomatoes in October? Are you MAD?
I live in Perth, Western Australia which is in the southern hemisphere. My seasons may be the opposite to yours! Perth has a warm climate, with hot summers and mild winters. I can actually grow tomatoes pretty much year-round.
Your place looks so interesting, can I come over for a visit and a cup of tea?
I’ve met some lovely people via A Farm of Your Home. Despite sharing my garden online, I am actually really protective of my family and home. And I should mention that strangers and I don’t always mix…
So, please don’t be offended if I refuse your request for my home address.
Will you come and work in our community garden?
I would love to come and visit, but I don’t have the time (or the inclination) for another unpaid commitment. Yet, if you have a paid role you think I would be perfect for, please contact me directly.
Why are you growing so many vegetables? Are you a prepper?
I’m not a prepper. I grow my own produce because I love gardening and I am otherwise a greedy eater who is fussy about delicious fresh food. I am not anticipating a zombie apocalypse, the Obamaclypse, TEOTWAWKI or an invasion of reptilian aliens. I’ll be going down with the earth-ship if I’m wrong.
That said, growing your own food is of enormous benefit to our society, as it stands, right now.
Are you coming back? When are you writing again?
I’m back! Sorry about the delay folks, I had another project on the go. Now thats wrapped I’m back in the garden full time, to stay. My garden and the blog need some rehabilitation, but I hope to bring them both back, better than before.
Do you do workshops? Can you teach me how to set up my garden/beehive/chicken coop?
I don’t do workshops or seminars as yet, but it is something I hope to do in the near future. Perhaps let me know what your most pressing knowledge gap is? What kind of course would you like to see?
Can I put your post on my blog?

That depends. If you want to guest post, please send me an brief article pitch and a link to your website. I do not pay for guest post material. Please do not send me any full articles for consideration on A Farm of Your Home, I will delete them.
How old are you? Are you a Christian? Are you planning on having more children?
Why do you want to know all that?
Haha! Here goes…
3. Hell no!
