Your Soul is beaming with flowers, it’s time to stop watering your scars.Pavana
I’m not exaggerating when I say that January was the best month I have had in a long time!
My lovely January is rooted in my decision to relaunch A Farm of Your Home. Last year wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great either. It prompted me to make a plan for 2019 that I could be excited about.
So far I’ve stuck to my plan, and are making more for this coming year. I’m planning a plant-based new garden. I’ve cleaned up my rather depressing worm farm situation and made a fresh start. Same with my greenhouse!
I also spent a bit of time in the kitchen. We eat a plant-based diet and it can require some extra creativity! I hope you have a batch of Plant-Based Baking Mix in your pantry and have given it a try. With the kids going back to school next week, we are planning to make Beetroot Brownies, Apple and Blueberry Muffins and some Tahini Honey Cookies to freeze as recess supplies for the weeks ahead.
I gave up alcohol for Dry January. I feel so good, I’m planning to continue for the rest of the year! I’m sleeping well, feeling great and even lost a few kilos! I love my Semillon and cocktails, but between my Herbal Shrubs and my Continuous Kombucha, giving up alcohol wasn’t as hard as I expected it to be.
This year, I started the A Farm of Your Home Apothecary. Here, I share plant-based body care and household recipes for products that you can make at home. I love using my Green Coffee, Cardamom and Pink Grapefruit Body Polish, it is so invigorating in my morning shower!
We have had some warm days here in Perth, so the Cooling Herbal Face Mists have been stocked in our fridge and are so refreshing!
Next month is the shortest of the year, but packed full of activity at A Farm of Your Home! Since February can be one of the hottest months of the year, I’m turning my attention to re-establishing my seed
We have Valentines Day coming up and I’m planning a special, aphrodisiac menu! I share some great herbs to blend with your tea to make your own signature infusions.
In the Apothecary, we make clay masks, create a few soothing Gardener’s Bath Soaks for after those long days in the garden! I share how to make your own tooth and mouth care and, a rather different way of washing your hair!
I hope you have used your January Garden Journal pages and found them useful! Subscribers will be receiving their February Garden Journal pages with Sunday’s regular mailout. If you are not a subscriber, sign up today for your last chance to receive the January Garden Journal pages!
I have not been as productive in the garden as I would have liked in January, but given it has been warm, and I’ve had the kids home for school holidays, It has been a good month. Lord knows, my outstanding garden jobs can be transferred to next month!
Finally, thank you to everyone who has taken the time out of your day to write me, leave a comment or say hi on social media! I love to hear from you, and what is happening in your own gardens, thank you so much for sharing!
